Embrace Grey Hair.

I have made a momentous decision to embrace grey hair. This started during lockdown when the hairdressers were shut. I took one look at myself and wondered why I had become a slave to colouring. Henna is great for hair but terrible for grey roots, it turns hair orange and for a while I had orange roots as I didn’t want to use chemicals. So I have decided to embrace it as it is on trend at the moment. Grey hair is prone to fizzy hair so you must keep conditioning it. At least I won’t have that constant skunk line that would appear after two week of colouring.

Less is Best.

During the lockdown like everyone else I didn’t need to maintain a polished image for work. One week I think I’d forgotten to wash my hair for 7 days and when I finally did I’d noticed a little difference. The following week I probably ran out of shampoo and didn’t fancy trying the dog’s version and this continued, and after six weeks I’d noticed that the greasy, pungent smell that comes with unwashed hair has was no longer there and was replaced with what I can only describe as essence of almonds. I have been washing my hair once a week for 6 months now and my hair has never looked or felt better. I would advocate this for anyone with an itchy scalp or damage from styling/colouring/straighteners. The first two weeks are the worse as the smell is very pungent but it you can explain to your partner – if you have one – that you’re trying an experiment, I can assure you your hair will reap the benefits. Please don’t be tempted to wash your hair or put dry shampoo on it as after 6 weeks your scalp will naturalise itself and your hair will become less greasy. Just scape your hair back if you’re about to give in. Give it to go, you will see a difference. Love
